Sem Jacobs

It’s only been a year ago since Sem Jacobs started his solo career, with launching his own label, doing his first shows across the ocean and with his first releases being supported by the scene’s high flight DJ’s, he quickly managed to put his stamp on the house music scene.

This seems to be just the beginning as in March 2022, Sem made his debut for none other than No Art and shortly after, he performed at the iconic Printworks in London for the 10-year anniversary of Solid Grooves in April. In September “the young man from Alkmaar” did his first show in South America at Salón Amador in Medellín, Colombia. In this same year Sem Jacobs launched his own imprint called FUNKiMAN (in May), combining his two biggest passions: Wine & Jazz. Sem’s music reached over hundreds of thousands of listeners all over the world and the hit track ‘Pass Me The Wine Please’ even made it to BBC Radio 1.

2023 is aging like a fine wine, as Sem is releasing more music, playing bigger crowds and keeps spreading his signature sound that is defined as groovy, rhythmic, funky and refreshing, while staying true to his roots. You’ll now often hear his tracks shaking the rooms at Circoloco in DC-10. Skream recently tweeted ‘Sem Jacobs is literally coming for everybody.. insane production!’ Sem just made his debut for FLOW and in September he’ll go back to South America for his first little tour. At ADE you can see him play at the iconic Thuishaven for the first time and these are just some highlights for the near future of this young man.
